Dual Boot Kali with Windows 8+


If you are confused whether you should dual boot Kali or use it on a virtual machine, you should read my previous post at https://goo.gl/NkkH78

Things required:
Minimum 10gb of free Hard Disk/SSD space
Minimum 8gb pen drive
A little patience

Stuff that needs to be downloaded:
Kali(64 bit is preferred): https://kali.org/downloads/
Rufus: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Procedure:
1) Run Rufus in ADMIN mode.

2)Select your Pendrive

3) Ensure that the mode is GPT+MBR in Rufus

4) Select your ISO after clicking button with image of CD on it.

5) Click on Start and wait for Rufus to complete the process

6) Now we need to disable Secure Boot and fast boot in windows(if not already disabled).

7) To disable fast boot go to Settings->System->Power->Power & Sleep-> Additional power Settings->Chose what power buttons do.

8) Now, Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable and disable Fast startup

9) Now to Disable Safe Boot, we need to boot into BIOS settings but before that we should partition our disk.

10)Search for create and format hard disk partition in start menu.

11) Now select a drive which you want to partition and right click on it.

12) Click on Shrink Volume and Shrink minimum 10gb(20gb is recommended).

13) Wait for the process to finish.

14) Open this blog on your phone, or click a picture of the upcoming points because you need to shut down your pc for a while now.

15) Once you are in Recovery mode, go to Troubleshoot->Advanced Options->UEFI Firmware Settings and click Restart.

16) Once in BIOS, disable secure boot.

17) Now while the pc is turning on, keep pressing F12(This may vary from model to model) until you see a list of devices.

18) Now select Kali USB from there.

19) Select Graphical Insall from here.

20) Keep going next(Set time zone/name etc) until you see partition disks option.



21) Select Guided-use the largest continues free space.
22)Ignore the warnings and select yes.

23) Install GRUB bootloader when prompted.

24) Have a cup of tea and let the setup install the necessary files.

25) Once the Installation is complete, press continue and Let the PC reboot.

26) You will now boot into GRUB Bootloader where you can select Kali.

27) Enjoy Hacking with Kali.


Always remember to use Kali for helpful purposes and not use it to cause harm.
